Q: The season premier of ABC's Spin City featured a dog named Rags, and the end credits included a dedication to a dog named Rags. What's the story?
A: The elderly canine, a new addition to the household of Carter Heywood (played by Michael Boatman), was inspired by the family dog of Spin City writer Kirk Rudell. Also named Rags, he died earlier this year. The TV Rags is played by a short-haired Brussels griffon named Wesley. By the way, did you recognize David Letterman as the voice of Rags?
