FAMOUS ANIMALS SITE MAP

Please forgive me if these seem harsh, but part of the reason updates have been so infrequent is that i am sent such a large volume of incorrect, incomplete, vague, and inappropriate submissions. The less time i have to spend slogging through poorly-written email, the more time i can spend making improvements to the site (like adding fill-in forms & a search function). THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING!!!

1. Check the lists carefully to make sure your submission isn't already listed. Study the menus at the top of the Index pages and decide where the most logical place would be to look for it. For example, Checkers (Richard Nixon's cocker spaniel), is NOT listed in the main body of the dog lists, but on The Index of Famous People's Dogs. Also, try different spellings. If you submit a name that is already listed, i will reply with a request to re-read these guidelines.
2. The animal you submit must be famous. As clever as you may be at naming your own pets, i am not interested in them unless you or they are famous; that's why they're called the "Indexes of Famous Animals." NOTE: just having a web site does not make an animal "famous." Use common sense.
3. If you are submitting an animal OTHER THAN A DOG OR A CAT, please refer to the Critter Information Center to make sure the species you wish to submit is included under the classification of "critter." For example, i do not include birds or reptiles on any list.
4. Don't be snotty! I am tired of people insinuating that i'm an idiot because i don't have the one name they thought of. If i detect a condescending attitude in your email, i will not respond, and your submission (if valid) will be credited to "anon".
5. Fill in all sections of the form (below). If you don't know what to put in any section, indicate as such by typing something like "don't know" or "?" or "does not apply". Otherwise i have to assume it's an oversight, and that will delay (or even prevent) the processing of your submission.
6. Please use proper caps!!! IF YOU USE ALL CAPS, i have to retype your submission. if you use all lower case, i have to add capital letters to the beginning of Proper Nouns. Submissions will be processed more quickly if i don't have to correct your typing!
7. If you have contributed before, please let me know what initials i used for you, and which list(s) you contributed to.
